MR TURNER (12A)- NADFAS
'No other artist living...can exercise anything like the magic power which Turner wields with such ease.' (The Times, 1829)
'Mike Leigh's portrait of the artist, JMW Turner, is as complex and multi-faceted as its subject. It is a study of creative genius and the tolls it places on those who surround it. It is a depiction of a complex man whose manifold gifts and strengths were matched by just as many less glorious character traits. Turner, brilliantly brought to life by Timothy Spall, is partly sunny, generous and selfless; partly a priapic troll concerned only with his own needs.' (The Times 2014)
A special presentation with introduction by NADFAS lecturer Valerie Woodgate, followed by tea and cake interval ( included in ticket price) and screening of the film.
Organised by Leatherhead Decorative & Fine Arts Society - The event will be open to all (including non-members of NADFAS).
A transaction fee of £1 per ticket ( maximum £7 ) will be added to the cost of all tickets purchased online. 50p per ticket will be passed to the theatre Restoration Fund, to assist in the cost of ongoing maintenance of our Grade II listed building.
